During your child’s time in our Preschool room, we will help to support them in a more structured environment. This helps work towards an easier transition to our Montessori school before your child would be moving onto the primary school environment. Your child will learn to sit on a chair at a table and engage in activities and work for longer periods of time. We ensure to work with children and support their individual needs while understanding that they are all growing and developing at their own pace. Having fun while learning new skills helps the children to engage and learn in a more meaningful way. Some of the activities they take part in include arts and crafts, role play, reading, meditation, movement to music, baking and practicing life skills. We support parents to toilet train their children in our child sized toilets that are specifically to wards children of this age group.

At Little Miracles, we work with an emergent curriculum, which is enquiry based, and allows for staff to plan activities based on the children’s interests. This helps the children to become a part of the planning and be involved in which areas are focused on at any time. The children will learn more and enjoy each activity more when it is based upon their own interests. Staff make observations on children’s interests, how they play and engage getting a better understanding of each child’s strengths and needs. Activities can be based on observation findings which will ensure that each child gets the best learning experience to suit their individual needs. All activities are presented in a way that will be meaningful and fun for each child. While focusing on your child’s fine and gross motor skills, language and cognition development, we emphasise a great amount of focus on your child’s emotional and social development and support them to confidently learn life skills from a young age.
